What a Mess! Today's Organization is Tomorrow's Relaxation.
One of the easiest things to say to ourself is,"I'll do that tomorrow." And yet tomorrow never comes. Keeping up with a household is an easier task one step at a time and by organizing it into easily accessible compartments it can be done quickly and effectively without wasting so much of our precious time.
The first step is to take a few moments to discover what exactly is lacking. Where do I need to improve, and what will make this easier for me? One of the biggest tasks is paperwork. Over time, I have found it to be much simpler to color code with a filing system that uses folders. A simple shoe box will suffice to put all those receipts in until the folders get set up. A few hours of coordinating will save a lot of time throughout the year when it becomes necessary to use what you've archived. (Let's say around tax time, to find those important receipts.
Another really important factor is cleaning up the clutter. What really matters? What things around the house can we just give away, sell, recycle, or remove entirely to the trash? By opening up our space, it's easier to see what we have, and focus on the other things that matter far more than things, like relationships, family, or perhaps favorite pastimes. For instance, pictures can all be stored on sites like kodakgallery or shutterfly. Old clothing can be donated to a local thrift store.
It takes a little time now to save a lot of time down the road. Remember, that tomorrow you're always talking about often never really comes. Take the opportunity to organize today, and it will create a peace of mind in the future.
